WHAT'S NEXT

3 robotics stories worth your next 90 seconds
1 HANDO Labs pays people in stock exposure to film their chores
Robots learn physical skills from footage of humans doing them, and that footage is now worth money. HANDO Labs is building a network where anyone can record everyday tasks, such as buckling a strap or sorting a pile of objects, and earn tokenized exposure to stocks like Nvidia and Apple in return. The pitch has drawn more than 1.2M views, a sign of how hungry robotics labs are for real-world training data.
2 A creator fights a six-foot humanoid in what is billed as the first human vs. robot MMA bout
In San Francisco, content creator Frankie LaPenna stepped into the ring against Rekbot, a humanoid built by REK. The event was a promotion for a VR game, so treat it as a spectacle rather than a sport. Still, the footage shows how far humanoid balance and reaction speed have come.
3 Amazon commits $100M+ to a new plant that will double its robot output
Amazon is building a 585,000-square-foot robotics factory in Greenwood, Indiana, due to open by 2028 with 300 jobs paying about $100,000 a year on average. Together with its Texas site, the plant doubles how many robots Amazon can make. The company says it has already built more than 1M robots, and they now help fill 75% of customer orders across 300+ facilities worldwide.
ROBOTS IN ACTION
Where robots are clocking in this week
Theme park staff. AGIBOT has placed humanoids at more than 100 touchpoints inside Chimelong Spaceship Park in Zhuhai, where they guide visitors, work shop and hotel counters, and perform aerial stunts. The Chinese company also rolled its 20,000th robot off the line, which suggests these deployments are moving past the pilot stage.
Runway models. Unitree robots took part in the "Age of Intelligence" segment at Vogue World Milan inside the Galleria. The clips spread fast, but so did the backlash, with many fashion fans unimpressed by the tech crowd's arrival on their turf.
Tire techs. PitPro Automation switched on its first tire-changing system at a Kal Tire shop in Calgary. Two robots work as a pair to replace all four tires in under 15 minutes. PitPro is pitching fleets and tire chains that cannot hire enough technicians.
INDUSTRY SNAPSHOT
The robotics business in five lines

UniX AI is pushing into overseas markets ahead of a planned IPO, another Chinese robotics firm looking beyond its home country.
Zoox pulled its Atlanta test fleet off the road after workers reported symptoms of toxic gas exposure.
Only about 7,000 humanoid robots were sold worldwide last year, a reminder of how early this market still is.
Eve is now on sale as an FDA-cleared, self-balancing personal exoskeleton that lets wheelchair users stand and move upright with their hands free.
Waymo averages 500,000 paid rides a week across 15 US cities, with 80% of its fleet in California and Texas as its Ojai minivans ramp up.
ROBO REELS

In the AGT Season 21 finale, eight Unitree G1 robots danced in sync with 27-year-old performer Wu Yufei in an act called "Homies." The routine borrows the flowing water sleeves of traditional Chinese theater, and Wu spent months rehearsing with the machines to get the timing right. Watch the full performance. The robots hit their marks, but the act works because a human set the rhythm and the robots followed it.
